12th April 2008 Pop Email ChangesSupport
On Saturday 19th April, we will be introducing a filter system for "catch all" email accounts to reduce the amount of spam currently being processed by our email servers . This allows the addition of acceptable email addresses without the need to create individual mailboxes whilst rejecting email to unauthorised addresses. Additionally, email sent through pop.proweb.net using authentication will only allow mail from the authenticated email address. Please contact support if you require assistance in implementing this new functionality or changing your settings.

We are aware that clients are having difficulty sending and receiving mail to and from local email accounts.

We are currently working on resolving this issue and normal service will resume as soon as possible.

14th January 2008 Pop3 Server OutageR E Drage
We are currently experiencing problems with our pop3 service which will prevent the collection of email until further notice. We expect this fault to be resolved by 4am and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
 
21st November 2007 Anti-Spam OutageRk Griffiths
Over night the Spam server failed, This was recitifed during the early hours of this morning.

You may notice increased levels of unwanted email.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

As a result of this failure, we have commissioned additional hardware which will help to prevent future anti-spam service losses.
 
28th August 2007 Web Server FailureR E Drage

At 11.55pm on Monday 27th August, one of our web servers suffered catastrophic multiple disk failures causing the loss of all data. We are in the process of restoring the latest backup snapshot to a replacement server which we expect to take approximately 4 hours. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The planned maintenance of the NTWEB server will continue this morning, FTP Access has been closed down so that we can keep data as current as possible.

We expect this to take upwards of 4 hours in total.

The maintenance planned for today on the NTWEB server has been put on hold. We plan to continue with the maintenance as the 14th of August.

We are aware that the 0844 0570709 Dialup currently replies as engaged, a fault has been registered with the wholesale suppliers. We currently do not have an ETA on a fix. Please contact support@proweb.net if you urgently require a dialup facility.
 
24th April 2007 Fibre Outage / Bandwidth OutageRk Griffiths
Today we have experienced a complete outage of the fibre network supplied to us. The outage lasted just over 4 hours starting from 11:10am and was caused by a faulty card at the supply end of the service. We are currently monitoring services to ensure they all return to normal. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
 
11th April 2007 MSN, Hotmail DeliveryRk Griffiths
It has come to our attention that users are having problems delivering email to hotmail, MSN accounts. This appears to be caused by Microsoft's new filtering system and is having an impact across the internet. The bounce you receive will look like this:

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors --- <*********@hotmail.com> (reason: 550 Your e-mail was rejected for policy reasons on this gateway. Reasons for rejection may be relate...se note: if you are an end-user please contact your E-mail/Internet Service Provider for assistance.)

If you are receiving this bounce you will need to contact Hotmail/MSN directly via there support mail address, support@hotmail.com. Additionally if you deliver direct from the Proweb Webmail your email should be delivered.
 
01st February 2007 0845 Dialup resolutionRk Griffiths
The long standing 0845 dialup number for Proweb's dialup users has now ceased, we have been issued a new dialup number which is 0844 057 0709. On this occasion usernames and passwords will not remain the same. If you are experiencing problems dialing into this service please give the office a call on 0115 9202010 so that we can issue you new details.

The 0845 Dialup currently has fault where by usernames and passwords are being rejected when trying to login. We are currently looking into this problem.

Normal service has resumed on the pop3 Email server.
We have setup a new URL for the administration section of your pop3 accounts: http://popadmin.proweb.net.

The http://pop.proweb.net/admin will continue to resolve for a period of time to allow uses to switch to the new address.

You will also be able to use http://webmail.proweb.net to access the webmail service from any pc with internet access.

29th December 2006 POP3 Server MaintenanceRk Griffiths
Due to the extremely low usage of the pop3 server we have taken the opportunity to perform some maintenance and further upgrades to enhance performance. Full service will resume in 2 hours.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have halted the pop3 mail server to diagnose problems reported by numereous clients.

Please bare with us normal service should resume within the next 30 minutes.

WWW server 2 (81.109.162.17) is currently down due to a major hardware issue. A new server has been brought inline and is currently having data replaced, ETA on the server coming back online is currently within the next 3 hours.

It has been brought to our attention that a few Nottingham based NTL users cannot resolve the http://pop.proweb.net server, this appears to be caused by one of their dns caches. If you find that you are one of these users please contact NTL so that they can diagnose the issue further.

An upgrade is being applied to the livestats server tonight after 5pm, for the duration of this upgrade the livestats package will be unavailable. Your stats will not be lost and any data incoming whilst the update is performed is being saved and then imported after the upgrade has completed.

As a result of equipment failure on Friday night, a number of websites have been moved to a new server.  Because of incompatible software, certain shared scripts do not currently function.  We are working to update these scripts as quickly as possible and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

It has come to our attention that email is being rejected for a number of clients due to our mail server ip's being incorrectly blacklisted. Now this appears to have been an error on submission at NTL offices, we are in contact with both parties and have been assured the listings have been dropped out of the database. This will only affect clients that use these lists, the listings will drop of within the next 24/48 hours.

It has been brought to my attention that a few clients are seeing that the domain whois on their .co.uk domains is showing that the domain has not been renewed and a Pro-Forma Invoice has been sent to them stating such, please do not panic and be assured that the domains have been renewed and will update to show the correct information within the next 24hrs.

18th October 2004 ADSL OutageSupport
On Friday 15th October at approximately 4pm an outage on the ADSL broadband network occurred. Engineers resolved the problem by approximately 17.40pm. This fault re-occurred on Monday morning and has again been resolved. An official statement will be posted here shortly and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.
