World Wide Web ConsortiumIt is important to be able to work to high standards. In any trade or industry there are measurements that describe quality, a quality product is one that lasts and is recognised to be superior. When making websites for our customers (and ourselves) we need to be able to demonstrate that our work for them is of the highest standards. Do do this we validate all our HTML work using the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) who in their own words are: The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is an international consortium where Member organizations, a full-time staff, and the public work together to develop Web standards. W3C's mission is: To lead the World Wide Web to its full potential by developing protocols and guidelines that ensure long-term growth for the Web. The W3C MarkUp Validation Service checks HTML documents (webpages) for conformance to W3C HTML and XHTML. By ensuring our website, and that of clients that we build web sites for, comply to the W3C Standard, we ensure that the site is viewable across a multitude of platforms and browser types. Additionally, the W3C service ensures that websites can be viewed by the visually impaired and also, using descriptive information in the website, by the hard of hearing. |
